One day I will create a dimensional plane in which this is the present moon

And idk, I feel like certain pixel counts will make it look splotchy regardless. I looked up the street fighter lose screens as that was something that came to mind in regards to pixel blood, but it seems those examples tend to have more detail with higher pixel counts, and thus can achieve clearer resolution.
Could using different tones make it look more like blood, I wonder? Like, having the normal red tone, and then adding a little bit of darker tones of red throughout to make it look more viscous?
I'm not too sure myself, but I guess I would recommend looking at other bloody/gory pixel games for reference.
This looks great, though. So good job.
